The battery race in phones isn’t slowing down. After the Redmi Turbo 5 Max launched earlier this year with a 9,000mAh battery, its successor could push past five digits.
What the rumor says
Tipster Digital Chat Station reports that an upcoming mid-range phone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s will pack a battery exceeding 10,000mAh and a display around 7 inches. The tipster didn’t name the phone, but the chipset is the giveaway — the Dimensity 9500s also powers the Turbo 5 Max, making the Turbo 6 Max the obvious candidate.
A separate rumor from July already pointed to a 7-inch display with 2K resolution for the device, and a leaked render showed a minimalist design with a horizontal, pill-shaped camera bar.
Putting it in context
- Predecessor: Redmi Turbo 5 Max — 9,000mAh battery, 6.83-inch display
- Rumored upgrade: 10,000mAh+ battery, ~7-inch 2K display
- Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 9500s
- Design: minimalist, horizontal pill camera bar
Why it matters
A 10,000mAh battery in a mainstream phone would have been unthinkable two years ago. With a 7-inch screen, the Turbo 6 Max is blurring the line between phone and small tablet — a formula that could appeal to gamers and heavy users who hate carrying power banks.
