The iQOO Neo11 is almost a year old, so its successor is due any day — and if a new rumor is right, the Neo12’s screen alone could make it one of the most interesting phones of the month.
A display combo nobody has shipped yet
Tipster Digital Chat Station claims Chinese panel maker Visionox is building an OLED display with "2K" resolution and a 185Hz refresh rate — which would make it the world’s first mass-produced screen to pair those two specs. High refresh rates usually come with resolution compromises, so a panel that does both is genuinely new territory.
Visionox is also said to be using a brand-new luminescent material in the panel, with claimed breakthroughs in brightness, lifespan, and overall display performance. If the material delivers, this could be one of the best phone screens of the year on paper.
What else the Neo12 might pack
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (per an earlier rumor)
- Cooling: iQOO has been evaluating a built-in active cooling fan, though it’s unclear if it makes the final cut
- Launch: DCS says the Visionox panel debuts in an iQOO phone launching by the end of this month — the Neo12 fits perfectly
Why it matters
iQOO’s Neo line has always been about flagship-grade hardware at aggressive prices. A world-first display would give the Neo12 a headline feature that even pricier flagships can’t match — assuming Visionox’s new material lives up to the hype.
